AMAZON PRIME DAY

Hello Subscribers, TPTers, Teachers, and Parents,

My wife and I, at BusyMePlusThree.com, have been using Amazon Prime services for everything from clothes, to printers, and even grocery items and, on occasion when time permits, watching Amazon Prime movies that come with our subscription.  This service has been a lifesaver for us! We are super busy, just like everyone else! Instead of running around to a million different stores just to find the ONE thing that we need, we just order it, and it comes right to our door!  We wanted to pass on the deals for Amazon Prime Day and share some things that you might not know about Amazon…at least we didn't know many of these things! As mentioned above, we do earn an affiliate commission on anything you might want to subscribe to or purchase from our links, and it is a great way for us to support the blog and to continue to bring helpful content to our subscribers and the education community as a whole.  Amazon Prime Day 2018 will start at 3 PM ET on July 16 and run through July 17. This is set to be the longest Prime “Day” in history with nearly 36 hours of sales! If you’re ready to get started, you can browse some deals now!

Here is how it works…in order to take advantage of Amazon Prime day deals, you need to have an Amazon Prime membership. You can start a 30 Day free trial and you will obviously need to have a credit card on file with Amazon for the duration of your trial. The current cost of an Amazon Prime membership is $119.00 per year or $12.99 billed monthly.  Be sure to check the terms and conditions when applying for their service. Here are some of the key benefits, especially for the busy teacher or parent:

Free two-day shipping

Many, if not most, of Amazon's physical goods will be shipped to your door in two days — provided you live in the contiguous US states (mainland).  In fact, residents of some zip codes can enjoy same-day delivery at no extra charge, so as long as the order totals at least $35.

Free release-date delivery

Suppose you per-order a new book from your favorite author or a hot new tech product, as a Prime subscriber, you'll receive that item on the exact day it's released — not two days later. Only certain items are eligible, of course.

Unlimited photo storage

Amazon Prime offers subscribers unlimited cloud storage for photos. For most people, that means using the Amazon Drive app to upload pictures from phones and tablets, but there's also a desktop app (for Windows and Mac) that can archive photos from your hard drive.  In addition, Prime Photos gives you 5GB of storage for documents and videos. Here you can download Amazon Drive for iOS and Android

Access to Amazon Dash

You've probably seen Amazon's little product-branded buttons, which let you reorder various consumables (like paper towels or laundry detergent) with just one press. Each button costs $4.99, and each product order costs whatever it costs, but you need to be a Prime subscriber if you want to use Dash at all.

Unlimited video streaming

Prime Video is similar to Netflix, offering movies, TV shows and original content. It's accessible on virtually all mobile devices and most streaming sticks and boxes.  It has relevantly new shows, like Netflix, added all the time. Amazon Prime Video for iOS and Android.

Whole Foods Grocery Store benefits

Amazon Prime Now offers grocery delivery within 2 hours through Whole Foods Stores in cities where available. You can download the Amazon Prime Now app from the iOS and Android app stores. When you install the app on your smart phone, it will ask you to login to your amazon account through the app and use your GPS location to notify you if there is any service in your area.  I installed the app today 7.15.2018 and there was service available to me in the West Houston/Katy, Texas area.  However, the total amount purchased must be over $35.00 for the free 2 hour delivery.  Be sure to check often on the available service areas and fees. At the time of writing this post, I did not have to have any additional memberships, only Amazon Prime.

Free or flat-rate grocery and household item delivery with Amazon Prime Pantry

Toilet paper, dog food, shampoo, your favorite cereal — Prime Pantry will deliver these and other goods (pretty much anything that doesn't require refrigeration) for free. However, you need to order a minimum of five “qualifying” items, otherwise there's a flat $5.99 delivery charge.

One free e-book per month for the reader in your family

As part of your Prime subscription, you get access to the Kindle Owners' Lending Library, which lets you check out one e-book per month and read that book on any Kindle e-reader or Fire tablet. You can check out the E-book library for a list of fun e-books to read.

There are many more benefits to prime subscribers and you can check them out at the following link here.   As with most things online, the terms, conditions, services, and pricing are always subject to change.  Since we have signed up with Amazon Prime, they have added to the services offered including the Whole Foods and Amazon Pantry service.
